I might have to get my linguist friend to explain Suede’s grammar for when he refers to himself in the third person and when in the first. It doesn’t seem consistent to me, but I’m sure Suede has Suede’s own rules.

I’m currently writing my thesis on the grammatical structures and linguistic features of Polari, which uses third-person regularly and for no consistent reason I can discern from the canon I’m studying. Maybe Brett Anderson is influenced!
